Also on the Morne is the historic century old government House, which is the official residence of the Governor General. This is an outstanding example of Victorian architecture. After Marigot Bay, the road runs through the Roseau banana fields, and climbs into lush hills. Continuing in a southerly direction, the village of Anse La Raye and Canaries are situated in coves at the foot of steep hills.
